Heating provided by solar panels, coupled to a fuel oil boiler and production of photovoltaic electricity for self-consumption. Outside, outbuildings of more than 200 m², an independent studio and landscaping of 30 m², a heated above-ground swimming pool and a small pond complete this beautiful construction. Small village of Charente-Maritime, in the region of New Aquitaine,
Montguyon takes place in the former province of Saintonge, not far from
Pouillac and Clérac, on the road from Royan to Ribérac. In particular,
it serves as a stage for the GR 360 hiking trail. Its proximity to some
of the most beautiful cities in the region make it an ideal place to
spend a few days in the area. Full of charm, the town has all the
infrastructure necessary for a good holiday, as well as a modest
architectural and historical heritage to discover the time of a walk in
the village. It takes place at the confluence of Charente, Gironde and
Dordogne, in the borough of Jonzac. Built in the course of the eleventh
century, the castle of Montguyon today presents a fortress of the
thirteenth century modified in the sixteenth century. The ruins now
belong to the commune, after being the property of the families of
Montguyon, Rochefoucauld and Rohan. The site has been the scene of many
battles, like the one of 1451, which saw the armies of Charles VII and
the English troops clash. Burned at the end of the eighteenth century,
the fortress also saw part of its dungeon collapse in the early 1980s.
The stables of the castle and ramparts were classified in the
supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments in 2004. Listed as a
historic monument, the covered path of Pierre Folle is a megalithic
construction erected around 4,500 years ago. Do not miss to discover the
church of Vassiac, a 12th century building remodeled in the 15th century
and listed as an historic monument. Fees charged to seller Commercial Agent To receive more information about this property and to be put in touch directly with our local agent, Laurent Taddei, please fill in the form below.
